Hendersonville is the cutest little town about 30 minutes south of Asheville, NC. It is well worth the scenic drive to visit either as a day trip or to stay for a long weekend.
I first heard of Hendersonville from some friends who visited both Asheville and Hendersonville for a few days each. They enjoyed Asheville but encouraged us to visit Hendersonville. Taking their advice, we decided to add a visit to this tow to our trip.
We travelled from Greenville, SC, to Hendersonville, NC, via a short pit stop in Travelers Rest, SC. The trip takes about an hour each way.
We made our first stop at Upcountry Provisions for breakfast. Other than it having great reviews, we knew nothing about it but were so glad to have made this stop. The parking lot was packed and the line was almost out the door. We knew immediately that we had made a great decision.
The whole time we were in line, I was eyeing the cinnamon rolls behind the counter. Unfortunately, the person in front of me got the last one. I ended up with my second choice which was some sort of berry roll similar to a cinnamon roll. In hindsight, I am so glad to have had the berry roll. It was incredible and more unique than the typical cinnamon roll.

After our breakfast pit stop, we made our way to downtown Hendersonville. We arrived shortly after stores opened, so we had no issues parking. There were many more cars as the day went on, so we were glad to have arrived early.

We shopped our way up and down Main Street. There were many cute boutiques and small businesses unique to Hendersonville. We also visited the Appalachian Pinball Museum. It is free to visit and less than $20 to play for the day. We spent some time playing, and it also ended up being a perfect way to spend time while we waited for a table for lunch.
We had lunch right next door to the Appalachian Pinball Museum at Arabella. It was very popular and had outdoor seating in a scenic setting. As it ended up, Arabella also has some great food! I ordered the chicken pot pie, and it was the best I’ve ever had. From the moment the plate was set on the table, everyone I was with knew it was going to be incredible. It looked and tasted great – highly recommend!

After lunch, we finished walking Main Street and then headed to Jump Off Rock. We knew nothing about it in advance. We just knew we wanted to see a great view of the fall leaves. A quick google search had us headed up to Jump Off Rock. It was a quick, scenic drive which led us to a beautiful lookout area. It was exactly what we were hoping for – a great view and fall leaves.

Hendersonville was such a charming and scenic small town with great views, a cute downtown, and fantastic food. It has all the making for a great day trip, long weekend, or more!
