Santa Fe, NM

I’ve only spent a few hours in Santa Fe, but it was a great preview of what the town has to offer. I spent most of my time exploring the historic downtown area shopping, eating, and sightseeing.

The Santa Fe Plaza area has much to offer. It would not take long to spend a significant amount of money. There are jewelry stores full of turquoise and other stones, many galleries with beautiful art, and resorts with fancy spas.

We were just driving through town but spent a few hours exploring and trying not to spend all our money.

Besides shopping, one of the main attractions in the Santa Fe Plaza area is to visit the Loretto Chapel. It is a quick stop but a memorable experience. The “miraculous staircase” has an interesting history and a great sight to see.

After visiting the Loretto Chapel, we ate at a nearby restaurant. We were able to sit outside, people watch, and enjoy the great weather. It was a quick stop but a fun one.

If given more time, I would spend at least one night in one of Santa Fe’s fancy hotels and and visit the Santa Fe Opera House. It is a world-renown venue that would be great to see in person.
