Taos was one of our day-trip excursions while staying at Red River, NM. Taos is known for a few things – skiing, the Taos Pueblo, and art.
I visited in the summer so skiing was not an option, and unfortunately, the Taos Pueblo was closed for the day. We spent the majority of our time exploring the downtown plaza. There were galleries, shops, and restaurants.
We only spent a few hours in town, but it was a fun city without the heavier crowds of Santa Fe. There were many flowers throughout downtown and pueblo style buildings. Even though we did not get to see the official Taos Pueblo, we still had a great time and got to experience some of what Taos had to offer.
